10th Annual Run for the Roses Fundraiser a SuccessCommunity turnout was exceptional in support of the 10th Annual Run for the Roses Kentucky Derby Fundraiser Party at The Bus Stop Paddock & Grille in Birch Run on Saturday, May 2, 2026. A portion of this year's proceeds will support the purchase of safety equipment for the Birch Run Township Fire Department and the Taymouth Township Fire Department, and the provision of healing and wellness services offered by the ConnEQtions Equine Therapy Program. Congratulations to the Run for the Roses Derby winner, Janet Schultz who entered Mr. Chippy in honor of her late husband, Louie Schultz, a beloved member of Birch Run Rotary. In true Kentucky Derby tradition, the hats were colorful, fun, and filled the room with a record breaking number of entries for the Ladies Hat Contest. The Rotary Club of Birch Run thanks everyone, near and far, who participated and showed their support. Birch Run Rotarians Recognized at Best of Awards CeremonyRotarians are people of action and the Birch Run Rotary Club and its members walked away with a number of awards at the Birch Run/Bridgeport Chamber of Commerce 2025 Best of the Best Awards Gala on March 12, 2026. The Rotary Club of Birch Run received the Village Partnership Award and was voted the 2025 Organization of the Year. Sarah Archer was recognized as 2025 Rotarian of the Year and Birch Run School Superintendent Diane Martindale was voted 2025 Citizen of the Year. Gail McDonald was a nominee for 2025 Volunteer of the Year and 5Heart Earthworm Farm (Sarah Archer and Darrell Reed) was a nominee for 2025 Business of the Year.
